Cheri Phyfer is president of Fortune Brands Global Plumbing Group (GPG). She joined the company in 2018 and is responsible for driving above-market growth across the platform at already high margins. She will focus on building strong, iconic brands while bringing innovation into the market through acquisitions and strategic partnerships that drive continued market outperformance.
Before assuming her current role, Cheri served as president of GPG Americas and president of Moen U.S. businesses. Prior to joining Moen, Cheri held various leadership positions at The Sherwin-Williams Company during her twenty four year career. Most recently serving as president of consumer brands; where she oversaw a global portfolio of over 60 marquee brands sold to more than 5,000 customers through more than 50,000 outlets driven by 2,500 employees. She also developed a brand optimization strategy that delivered impressive returns and led the planning and execution of the Valspar integration into the Consumer Brands Group.
Prior to her role as president of consumer brands, Cheri served as president and general manager of diversified brands at The Sherwin-Williams Company. Cheri also launched a variety of human capital initiatives throughout the division, including an emerging leader program, the division’s first entry-level sales and marketing training curriculum, as well as diversity and inclusion action plans.
In 2008, Cheri was named one of the “Most Powerful and Influential Women in Texas” by the Texas Diversity Council. In 2009, the Dallas Business Journal named Cheri to the list of “Top 40 Under Forty” business people in Dallas. In 2017, Industry Week named Cheri “Manufacturing Leader of the Week”. Cheri was named to the Clemson University board of trustees in November 2016. She is also a Clemson University Foundation executive board member. Cheri serves as a director for both W.C.Bradley and Western Forest Products. Cheri also serves on the boards of University Hospitals and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Cheri earned her Bachelor of Arts in Management and a Master of Business Administration from Clemson University. Cheri and her two daughters live in Bay Village OH.
