KATIE FISCHER
Advocate, Daughter, Sister, Friend
Likes: Reading, Disney movies, traveling, and open-mindedness Dislikes: Early mornings, being late, and unorganized spaces At the start of her college career at Kent State University, Katie knew she wanted to work with children, and has always wanted to be a helping hand to others. While navigating through diverse classes, Katie declared her major in Human Development and Family studies, with a concentration in Child and Youth Development. Throughout the courses she was taking, her desire in changing the ways people can advocate for youth only began to grow stronger. With years of experience being a nanny and volunteering throughout her school and church, Katie has extensive experience in providing direct care and resources for children. Knowing how to prepare and deliver developmentally appropriate activities, support children as they cope with multiple challenges, and foster their spiritual growth, is something Katie thrives in. As a volunteer, Katie also gained valuable skills in prioritizing responsibilities, managing time, and working well with others to meet personal goals. Katie grew up surrounded by her parents, grandparents, sisters, and younger brother, in which a strong support system was developed to help navigate through all the good and bad times life delivers. Katie hopes that being an intern at Cleveland Angels, she will be able to help create more of a voice for neglected children in need and help influence others to be an advocate as well. |
