WINIFRED KENNARD
Born and raised in Elyria Ohio, Winnie has always had a passion for serving. She earned her nursing degree and worked in the field for 35 years before retiring. Her mission has always been to help and serve people; so after she retired she became an advocate for young girls, and became a foster parent.
Winifred believes that every teen deserves a chance to succeed. She has a fiery passion for helping young teens who have faced challenges such as poverty, abuse, and homelessness. As an experienced foster caregiver, she cares for teens in her home, encourages them in their academic endeavors and in gaining life skills. She enjoys involving them in serving in the community, and is endearingly known as 'grandma' to her girls. She showers them with love (yes, sometimes tough love), and shows them that anything is possible. As such, most of the girls she's cared for have graduated high school, and gone on to live independent lives. Winnie has been a caregiver to family and friends, and is very well respected in the community for her passion and love for others. She serves on several other boards that serve the community, and she truly lives the mission of the Cleveland Angels. Winnie has a son and a daughter, and two wonderful grand children. She enjoys spending time with family and friends and being a blessing to others. |
