FAMILIES AND YOUTH
ON THE WAITLIST

ABOUT THE WAITLIST

We currently have 25 amazing families waiting to be matched in our Love Box program and youth waiting to be matched in Dare to Dream. Our heart at Cleveland Angels is to serve every family that makes the decision to foster. Our organization and families need committed and caring volunteers to step in and be part of a community of support. Check out just a few of our awesome families below and reach out with any questions about how you can get involved!

MEET THE FAMILIES AND YOUTH:

Click to learn more about what it means to match with a family in Love Box or to become a mentor through our Dare to Dream program!
FAMILIES
Family #1 - Located in Solon

Single mom in Solon that has
two adopted boys. She is currently fostering a baby boy, and is looking for practical and emotional support through the LoveBox program. She said the relationship aspect of our program really resonated with her. She would like to expand the boys’ circle of trusted people for their emotional well-being.

Family #2 - Located in Brook Park
This single foster mom lovingly cares for five children, ages 3 to 9 years old, some with special needs. She is hoping for a group of caring people to share some emotional and practical support, like items and enrichment for the children, through the Love Box program.

Family #3 - Located in Brooklyn Heights
This fostering family lovingly cares for 4 children, two with medical needs. Although they enjoy providing specialized care, they could use emotional support for their journey and would love someone who could occasionally babysit or help with transporting to appts, etc. The are a dedicated and friendly bunch!

Family #4 - Located in Euclid
This is a single foster mother lives near Euclid. She has one biological child, and one child in care, who is 6 years old and is the family's first placement. She recently moved to the area and is looking for someone to do activities with the children, and be of general support to the family.

Family #5 - Located in Madison
This couple is caring for 3 girls, and lives in a rural area in Madison. Their closest support group is nearly an hour away. They are hoping to accept more placements in the future, and because the feel fostering can be isolating, they would welcome a Love Box volunteer or group who can offer emotional support for the caregivers and time and enrichment for the children.

Family #6 - Located in Madison
A single foster father in Madison is seeking Love Box support! Three years ago, he decided to open his home after seeing a friend do the same, and realizing how great a need there was for loving homes. He enjoys helping make a difference for youth who need security and love. He is currently raising two, 13-year-old boys. One has been adopted, though the other is still currently in foster care. As both boys have had complex trauma in their lives, they will benefit from consistent, caring people to encourage them and build them up. The family would also benefit from emotional and social support, as well as some practical support. Can you help?

Family #7 - Located in Twinsburg
This is a couple in Twinsburg. This loving family consists of a 2-parent household with biological sons ages 9 & 13, and a now a 4-year-old girl who was placed in their home at 2 months of age. In late 2020, the family grew with the placement of her new baby brother who also needed a safe home! Although adding another child in foster care to their family was not part of their plan, they felt it was very important to have the siblings together. Both caregivers work full time, adding another element of craziness to their schedule! They would love to build a support system through the Love Box program, in the form of dedicated, caring friends that would build relationships with their kids and provide them time to recharge.

Family #8 - Located in Richmond Heights
These grandparents in the Richmond Heights area are caring for their two lovely granddaughters, ages 9 and 11. An ideal Love Box group for this family would include someone who can occasionally take the girls out for activities so that their grandparents could have a few hours of respite, and the family would welcome support through enrichment and arts & crafts for the girls. The 11-year-old has been matched with and individual Mentor through our Dare to Dream program as well! Would you like to join their team of Cleveland Angels support?

YOUTH
Youth #1 - Located in Elyria

This 14-year-old youth is in Elyria and has just begun high school and is talkative, funny, and outgoing. She enjoys history and watching documentaries, and loves shopping for fun. She is joining student council in her new school this year, and enjoys being of help to her teachers. An ideal mentor would be a female 25 or older who has a strong sense of self, is patient, and is willing to invest time in building Destiny's skill set to help her work through her feelings and problem solve with peers. She has an interest in studying criminal justice and law beyond high school, and is in a stable, supportive foster home with two Cleveland Angels volunteers already in place with other youth.

Youth #2 - Located in Cleveland's East Side
This very special 16-year-old youth is in Cleveland's East Side and we are seeking a very special mentor. He enjoys comics, likes school, and would benefit from an additional strong male presence in his life. He lives in a loving foster home with incredible family support, and would welcome a mentor who can help him expand his world through brief outings, exposure to experiences in nature, guiding conversations about relationships, and someone who can be a stable, consistent, and caring force in his life.
Take the next step.
