Daleelah was born as a first-generation American in her family, an identity that she takes pride in and inspires her to create long-lasting change and relationships in her community. Daleelah is deeply dedicated to empowering and supporting vulnerable populations. Throughout her undergraduate years, Daleelah has served marginalized populations such as the unhoused, refugees, LGBTQ+ individuals, and others.

Her first job was working as a law clerk at the Ohio State Legal Service Association. While there, she provided stable housing and legal resources to low-income Ohioans. In her 4th year of college, Daleelah became a communications specialist at the International Institute of Akron. She operated in aiding and welcoming 50+ refugee families into the Greater Akron area. Soon after, Daleelah attended graduate school where she served as a graduate researcher, laboratory instructor, and teaching assistant for two years. Daleelah taught undergraduate students about human diversity, cultural variation, and the importance of sociality in humans.

Daleelah graduated from the University of Akron in May of 2024 with a Bachelor of Arts in anthropology, and she will obtain a Master of Arts degree in anthropology from Kent State University in August of 2026. Her professional background has given her a diverse perspective on challenges individuals and families face as they navigate hardships and complex systems.

Daleelah is committed to amplifying vulnerable voices and helping individuals access the resources and opportunities they need to thrive. Daleelah is honored to be part of the team at CA, where she combines her passion for advocacy, relationship-building, and community engagement to support youth and families impacted by foster care.
