IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR YOU TO KNOW

Cleveland Angels is not a child placement agency, we are a community-based non-profit support organization!

To match you in a program with a foster/kinship family or youth, we partner with many different area foster placement agencies, who hold custody and oversight of the children.

Each placement agency has their own unique set of requirements for volunteers to spend time consistently with children/youth in their custody.

No need to worry, we've got you! Your Case Manager will explain and help facilitate it all for you, and can answer any questions you have!

WHAT IS THE PROCESS

STEP 1

Finish all Cleveland Angels Level Requirements to be fully eligible to get matched! (Instructions below)

STEP 2

Placement Agency Level Requirements.
Once you are matched, click on the agency below that is associated with your matched family or youth - Your Case Manager will let you know! Please note that you can do this step simultaneously with Step 1 if a matched is identified for you early in the process!

STEP 3

Complete your Orientation and Meet Your Match!

Step 1 -- Cleveland Angels Level Requirements
(NOTE: You may have already completed some of these requirements; and some steps can be in process simultaneously.)

1. Apply and pass an in-depth screening with a Case Manager -- complete!

2. Sign Cleveland Angels' Liability & Confidentiality Waiver online.

3. REGISTER FOR A CONNECT ACCOUNT.

CONNECT' is your portal to Cleveland Angels' system, used for housing documents & confidential information securely. It is also where you will submit an Impact Report to your Case Manager monthly to keep them informed on how things are going; you can also ask about resources or questions you may have. This is a very important part of being a Cleveland Angels volunteer!

• An invitation to create and account will be emailed to you from 'Social Solutions'.
• Follow the prompts to create your account!
• Go to Step 4 to upload needed items to volunteer

4. In CONNECT, you can easily submit any required documentation needed to stay active as a volunteer!

• Upload your active Driver’s License
• Upload your active Driver’s Insurance card (FYI, You will be prompted for an up-to-date document when one is expiring soon)
• Upload a brief bio about you that can be shared with your potential matches -- about you, what you enjoy doing, why you would like to be in their life/lives!

Love Box Program ONLY
If you are a leader of a Love Box® group, you will also upload the names and contact information for any group members here. For those volunteering as a family, this would include your spouse or children over the age of 14 yrs.

Dare to Dream Program ONLY
Please enter 3 references, with at least 1 being a professional reference. They will be contacted, and their contributions will be part of our screening process.

You and your Case Manager will work together to determine a great match for you!

5. ONCE MATCHED -- COMPLETE YOUR REGISTRATION + Pay One-Time Registration Fee. Click correct program link below!

6. SCHEDULE YOUR 1.5 HOUR ORIENTATION to the program within the next two weeks. (If you have a conflict, please talk with your Case Manager!) Click Here to Sign Up for an Upcoming Orientation Date!

7. COMPLETE ONLINE BACKGROUND CHECK through Sterling Volunteers. This is emailed to you from 'Sterling Volunteers' following your registration.

Please create a login and complete the page of your information for an online background check. Results will be emailed to Cleveland Angels and you will be made aware by email when you have been marked as eligible to volunteer!

Step 2 -- I'm Matched! How Do I Complete the Agency Requirements?
Each agency partner has slightly different requirements. Some may seem duplicative to what our Cleveland Angels level contains, but each agency’s internal policies determine what they require, and our ability to work with the families/youth depend on fulfilling their requirement.

1. Your Case Manager will provide the name of the agency you’ll work with.

NYAP

You are joining the program with a family or youth from Summit County Children's Services.

LORAIN COUNTY

STARK COUNTY
